We've always known that Spider-Man's most important conflict has been within himself: the struggle between the ordinary obligations of Peter Parker and the extraordinary responsibilities of Spider-Man. But in The Amazing Spider-Man 2, Peter Parker finds that his greatest battle is about to begin. It's great to be Spider-Man. For Peter Parker, there's no feeling quite like swinging between skyscrapers, embracing being the hero, and spending time with Gwen. But being Spider-Man comes at a price: only Spider-Man can protect his fellow New Yorkers from the formidable villains that threaten the city. With the emergence of Electro, Peter must confront a foe far more powerful than he. And as his old friend, Harry Osborn, returns, Peter comes to realize that all of his enemies have one thing in common: Oscorp.
"The Amazing Spiderman 2" is yet another movie that doesn't give the character of Spiderman the justice that it deserves. While the movie is entertaining for the most part, the story itself is just not very compelling. The movie is so overcrowded with characters to where it becomes a pain to follow the film. They also didn't learn from the mistakes "Spiderman 3" had, by just shoehorning unnecessary villains in the movie for just a few minutes. Apart from those flaws we get to see great performances from the entire cast and some top-notch special effects. "The Amazing Spiderman 2" is not a must-see.
“The Amazing Spiderman 2” continues the “new” Spiderman franchise. It could have been very good, yet the story was, sadly, very lacking. The reason for the flawed story is mainly the inadequate background and context. Luckily, this might be solved in the future since Marvel and Sony have just announced a cooperation. Also not to forget is that the acting performances were very good throughout and the special effects looked good as well. If you are a real superhero fanatic, you’ll like some parts and hate others but if you aren’t so keen on superheroes, you will probably like it. However, it is not a must-see.
“The Amazing Spiderman 2” had a lot of potential, yet it didn’t live up and just fell short. It features a not so interesting and overly crowded story which ends up losing you time and time again. However, we should not forget to credit the good parts about the movie as well. Those being the acting performances and the special effects, both were very well done. In the end “The Amazing Spiderman 2” isn’t quite on par with the Marvel Cinematic Universe and comes in as a mediocre film in the superhero genre, which is a shame.
