In 1987, five young men, using brutally honest rhymes and hardcore beats, put their frustration and anger about life in the most dangerous place in America into the most powerful weapon they had: their music. Taking us back to where it all began, Straight Outta Compton tells the true story of how these cultural rebels-armed only with their lyrics, swagger, bravado and raw talent-stood up to the authorities that meant to keep them down and formed the world's most dangerous group, N.W.A. And as they spoke the truth that no one had before and exposed life in the hood, their voice ignited a social revolution that is still reverberating today.
While I do enjoy the music N.W.A. created, I wasn't really interested in this. Having finally seen the movie, I now realise that I made a big mistake by delaying it this long. Not only was it a great biopic for fans of the genre, it was a great movie in general. The performances were all top-notch with some young new actors that all have a promising career ahead of them. The only kind of negative thing I have with the movie is that the 2nd half isn't as good as the first half. Still, I would recommend Straight Outta Compton to everybody.
I have to be honest, I didn’t really have expectations for “Straight Outta Compton”. When the movie launched it kind of passed my attention up until now. However, after seeing the film, I now know I’ve been missing out. “Straight Outta Compton” packs a very strong story with some great acting to back it up. Furthermore the songs used throughout the movie were just so amazingly suiting, especially because a lot of them were actually originally created by Ice Cube, Eazy-E, Dre, … Altogether I really enjoyed the movie and it is definitely one you should see.
Straight Outta Compton is the biopic about the notorious hip hop group N.W.A. We get to see the rise and fall of one of the most important groups in rap history. The film has a great story and is supported by amazing performances. Some of the actors even look like the characters they are portraying. The first hour of the movie passes by without even noticing you have been watching for so long. The second half however, takes on a slower pace and could be a bit less interesting. Furthermore, the music used in the movie is just great as they even used classic tunes in it. Altogether, this is a must watch for pretty much anyone.
