Let me get this off my chest, I loved this film. From the way it looked to the practical effects. It's crafted with so much heart and soul, you can really see that everybody involved is giving it their A-game. 'The Force Awakens' introduces us to some new characters alongside familiar faces such as Han Solo and Chewie. Some nice action scenes are also present in spades, as we would expect from Star Wars, with some (unexpected) but good humor thrown in for good measure. Furthermore John Williams delivers yet again with a great soundtrack, but despite all this, it's not without it's flaws. The story for example mostly follows the same beats as 'A New Hope' did. Although, this didn't affect the enjoyment I had with 'Star Wars: The Force Awakens' and I can safely say that the magic is back.

Only a couple of days late to the party, but here are my thoughts on Star Wars Episode VII – The Force Awakens. First off I’d like to point out the movie was pretty good. The acting performances were really solid overall. The scenery and the costume design was on point (yes I’m actually pointing out costume design with this one since there were so many and they were so well crafted, as we kind of expect from Star Wars). Furthermore, John Williams did a tremendous job on the new soundtracks for the film. Though, I really didn’t like it all and the most prominent flaw of the movie in my opinion was the story. I found it way too similar to the old movies, similar in a way that I almost don’t really need to see the new episode to know what could happen. I think this is a shame and I had high hopes for a new story since the setting is so many years later. Though overall it is a fun movie with a bit more humor than before, which is pleasant to see, and you won’t regret watching The Force Awakens.

'Star Wars: The Force Awakens' is the 7th installment in the, now almost 40 year old, Star Wars saga. We continue the journey of some old familiars, but as time skipped quite a few years since ‘The Return of the Jedi’, we get to see a lot of new faces as well. Overall it really looks like all the actors had fun creating this movie and that vibe results in really good performances throughout. Aside from that, we were treated with some nicely crafted props and costumes, as well as some beautiful scenery. The action, of which there is quite a bunch, was fun and exciting and this time around we got a lot more humor than before, which makes it even better. Soundtrack wise, John Williams nailed it again with some new scores, but for those who are longing for some nostalgia, don’t worry there are some classics in there as well. Even with some flaws, the biggest one being it's plot, which doesn’t really bring anything new to what we have already seen, the end result is still very good. So in the end, you shouldn’t miss this episode.
