When Jari suggested “Point Break” I didn’t really know what movie he was talking about. So as a result I didn’t have any expectations when watching this film. Sadly though, the film really disappointed me. For me personally, its biggest flaw was the plot. It was all over the place, didn’t make any sense and didn’t give any explanation whatsoever. You are literally watching this film for the action and the “handsome young guys”. The worst part here is that the action wasn’t even that good as they have failed to actually make it exciting. My conclusion is that you should skip this movie.

I have fond memories of watching the original Point Break and because of this I was kind of interested in seeing what the remake was all about. Not that I thought it needed a remake, but how bad could it be? Well, I guess the answer to that is "pretty damn bad". The plot didn't make any sense and there was next to no character development. Thanks to this, I didn't really care about anyone. Not even the main characters, who all had some of the weirdest tattooes I've seen in my life. However, the worst thing of all was the action, which was incredibly bland and boring. It's pretty impressive actually that you can make a movie about extreme sports boring, now that I think about it. Please, skip this movie.

Point Break is the unnecessary remake of the fun 90s action movie with the same name. Every charm that the first movie had got washed away in a wave of disappointment. This time around we get a rushed plot that doesn't make any sense and just goes from place to place to show you some boring action set pieces. Furthermore they did not even take the time to give us any decent character development or plot explanation. In the end this film was focused around partying and action but they somehow managed to make even the action boring, just like the rest of the movie. At least the performances were alright, though that didn't save the movie for us. We suggest you to skip Point Break and watch the original instead.
