“Her” is a one of a kind Science Fiction movie that follows Theodore Twombly (played by Joaquin Phoenix) after he broke up with the love of his life. The film has a fascinating story that's just as sweet and joyful as it is smart and emotional. By far the biggest achievement that “Her” has up its sleeve is the amazing screenplay and directing by Spike Jonze, made even better with stellar performances by the entire cast. Now, you end up with a movie which is definitely worth your time
“Her” gives us a truly unique idea and story, I actually haven’t seen anything like this story before (maybe it’s me who’s missing out on some other films). We are presented with a view on how humanity could revolve around technology in the future, which on his own is an interesting question, but now it is all worked out for us. Though it is merely the opinion or theory of one person, maybe a small team, the idea has been worked out so exceptionally well, it all just works and kind of makes sense. Besides the story, the acting was also really good. Joaquin Phoenix put up a marvelous performance, as well as Scarlett Johansson who did some great voice acting. All things considered, you should not miss “Her”.
“Her” is a very special Science Fiction movie and even though it is Science Fiction, you could say it is set in a rather near future. The story is pretty unique as well as fascinating and interesting. You’re given a lot of matter to think about, even some controversial subjects can be found. Besides that, you’ll find yourself being really moved or fascinated throughout the movie. Furthermore we get exceptional screenplay and directing by Spike Jonze. All these elements are supported and enhanced by really great performances by the cast in general. Special shout-outs go out to Joaquin Phoenix for his portrayal as the main character Theodore Twombly and to Scarlett Johansson as the voice of Samantha.
