When twelve mysterious spacecraft appear around the world, linguistics professor Louise Banks is tasked with interpreting the language of the apparent alien visitors.
I was pretty psyched to see "Arrival". Not because of Jeremy Renner or Amy Adams but because it just looked like a good movie and it most definitely did not let me down. The story was great and had a pretty extraordinary plot twist. A real "I never saw this coming" moment hit me during the film as it was so well thought out and I think that is what makes a story even more compelling. Aside from the plot, the acting wasn't shabby either but Adams and Renner stand out as the main protagonists, really pulling it off and leading the story. Lastly, I also quickly want to note that I really feel they put a lot of effort in creating Arrival's alien race, which I can appreciate. Overall, "Arrival" is an amazing movie and you should definitely see it.
"Arrival" was one of my most anticipated movies of 2016 and I'm thrilled to say it didn't disappoint even one bit. From a script with almost no flaws to the great directorial execution by Denis Villeneuve. Everything you see or hear in "Arrival' is important with no filler to be seen. The story is emotional and although actionless, can be exciting as well. This is all well and good but you also need the performances to really make the movie great. Gladly, the acting is just as superbe with a standout performance by Amy Adams. A special mention also goes out to the score, which worked perfectly with the tone of the movie. The only negative I can think off is that some scenes might drag on a little bit too long. All in all, "Arrival" is a must watch for everybody who likes smart movies.
"Arrival' is the latest project from upcoming director Denis Villeneuve and he proves yet again he is someone to look out for. With "Arrival", Villeneuve gives us a unique Sci-Fi movie that will stay with you for a long time. The story is emotional and exciting with clever twists and turns to keep you mesmerised all the way through. Furthermore, the alien race is one we haven't seen before and we are happy to say they, just like the story, are very well worked out. All this is backed up by a fantastic score and great acting by Adams and Renner as the main characters. One small pet peeve was the not so perfect pacing at times as some of the scenes could be a little long. Overall, "Arrival' is a must see for everyone.
